Submitting New Products on SmartBuyTrends
This guide provides a comprehensive overview of how to create, manage, and optimize your products on SmartBuyTrends, including inventory control, shipping options, attributes, and more.
1. Product Creation:
- Go to the Vendor Dashboard and select the “Products” tab.
- Click on “Add New Product” to start.
- Enter a title for your product.
- Select if the product is simple or variable based on its characteristics.
- Choose the appropriate category and add tags (keywords that help customers find your product in the search bar).
- Upload product images (a main image and several additional ones from different angles are recommended).
- Write a short description summarizing the product and a detailed description (include specifications, what’s in the box, etc.).
2. Inventory:
- Assign a unique SKU to identify your product (e.g., 14JKS86H477G6D) or use the manufacturer’s part number.
- Check the “Stock Management” box if you want to track the quantity of your product.
3. Geolocation:
- Set the product location, either the same as your store or a different location (such as a warehouse or branch).
4. Add-ons:
- Add-ons allow you to offer accessories or related products as extras. For example, if you sell a PlayStation 5, you can include extra controllers, headphones, or a VR headset as add-ons.
5. Shipping and Tax:
- In this section, activate the shipping options and select the appropriate type for your product (freight shipping, pick-up at branch, or home delivery using delivery drivers).
- It is recommended to leave activated the checkmark (this product requires shipping) activated to ensure the shipping rules will be applied to the product and configure home delivery only for nearby areas to avoid high delivery costs per kilometer. Avoid setting up home delivery if you are in Panama City and your customer is in a distant province like Coclé, as this will create excessively high shipping costs for the customer, use the Flete options for customers located in other provinces.
6. Attributes and Variations:
- This category is crucial as it allows you to provide detailed information about your product and create variations, such as different colors or sizes.
- Mandatory attributes:
- Item Condition: Defines the product's condition (new, used, open box) and allows for more precise searches.
- Brand: Select the brand of your product. If the brand is not listed, you can request that we add it. If you are an entrepreneur who makes your own products, you can also ask for your brand to be added or omit this attribute if your business does not have a specific brand.
- Optional attributes that enhance your product listing:
- Colour: For products with different colour options.
- Size: To differentiate sizes of a product (e.g., clothing in small, medium, large), which also helps manage inventory for each variation.

7. RMA Options (Warranty):
- Offering some type of warranty or return policy is essential. SmartBuyTrends has its own refund policy, but you can also set your custom terms based on what you sell. Activating this option allows customers to see what type of warranty you offer.
8. Other Options:
- Set your product's status and visibility once configuration is complete. You can add notes for customers with relevant information about your product.
- Enable the product review feature, which is important as it shows potential buyers previous customers' satisfaction, helps determine product quality, and can boost sales by providing insights based on reviews.
9. Advertise Product:
- This option allows your product to appear at the top of product lists and search results, giving it priority visibility over other products in the marketplace.
